The United Kingdom is no stranger to the fame of DC’s caped crusader, Batman. And like the rest of the world, Batman Day for 2019 will consist of two different days to celebrate all things Batman. As with many celebrations of this nature, there is no singular source that can be traced as its origins. It seems to have sprung up spontaneously, although arguably with some help from DC, around the world.

When is Batman Day in United Kingdom?

September 21st, 2019

September has been the traditional month to celebrate Batman. This year, the day falls on the 21st of September with celebrations planned for the UK and around the world. On this day, there will be celebrations across the UK in the form of getting dressed up as Batman and going to events where the caped crusader and his sidekick, Robin, will be the major theme.

By having the day on September 21st around the world, it ensures that Batman will be celebrated all day long in one form or another. Many will gather to read the comics, watch the animated series, television shows, serials, and movies that feature Batman.

For this Batman Day, there will be a special Batman shirt for those to wear on Jeans for Genes Day. This is a special day that raises awareness of genetic disorders, providing a popular platform to help people become aware and address the issue as they can. For those who suffer from genetic disorders, Batman Day becomes a special day to have their needs put to the forefront, so more people can become aware of what their condition is all about.

Batman Day in United Kingdom will be like many that are celebrated at the same time around the world. The gatherings at comic shops, festivals, and events across the UK will ensure that this year it will be one to remember.

March 30th, 2019 Observations

March 30th marks the 80th anniversary of Batman’s first appearance in Detective Comics #27, which was released on March 30th, 1939. DC is hosting the celebration on that day, creating the first of two Batman Days for the year.

The events for the March 30th Batman Day will be mostly centered in the US. However, there may be local celebrations in the UK depending on the participating comic shops and communities. For the most part, the gatherings will probably be more online and focus strictly on the history of the caped crusader.

From the 30th of March to the 21st of September, there will no doubt be additional celebrations and increase of Batman’s presence on television, comic shops, and movie theaters. With events happening in the US, Australia, China, and the rest of the world, there will be plenty to celebrate in the local communities featuring Batman.
